Hodnotíte barvu, louche (zakalení), aroma, hutnost, chuť a celkový dojem, přičemž do finálního skóre se započítávají pouze prvních pět vlastností.

Barva: U klasických absinthů se hodnotí čistost, průzračnost barvy. Absinthe by neměl být zakalený, neměl by působit umělým dojmem, neměl by mít sediment. Pokud jde o verte absinthe, mělo by to být vidět, čím slabší odstín zelené, tím hůře. Pokud jde o blanche, hodnotí se také průzračnost, ale hodnocení je v tomto případě jednodušší, jelikož blanche musí být naprosto průzračný, jakýkoliv náznak barevného odstínu nebo dokonce kalu je špatně.

Louche (zakalení): Dobrý absinthe by se měl po přidání vody mléčně zakalit. Voda by se při recenzi měla lít po kapkách, aby bylo možné louche zhodnotit. Absinthe by neměl reagovat hned na první kapku, což je známkou přidání anýzových esencí, aby se docílilo silnějšího zakalení. Louche by měl nastupovat odspodu a při postupném nabírání na objemu by se na povrchu měla vytvořit nezkalená vrstva, jejíž zmizení signalizuje připravenost nápoje. Zakalení má být hutné, nemělo by být průsvitné, nemělo by se postupem času vytrácet.

Aroma: Absinthe by měl velmi příjemně vonět. Charakter aromatu je různý v závislosti na očichávání - přímo z láhve je vůně slabší než když je absinthe nalitý ve sklenici. Aroma se hodnotí před zakalením, během louche a po zakalení. Neměl by dominovat alkohol, nebo jiné vůně, které by přebíjely bylinky. Vůně by se po přidání vody měla rozvinout jako květina.

Hutnost: Hodnotí se hutnost zakaleného absinthu. Dobrý absinthe působí v ústech krémovým dojmem, byť je konzistencí tekutější než jiné krémové nápoje. Špatný absinthe je v ústech vodový, máte pocit, že pijete prostě alkohol s vodou. Dobrý absinthe se ústech příjemně převaluje.

Chuť: Zde se hodnotí chuť a bylinková paleta absinthu. Dobrý absinthe by neměl být hořký. Mírná hořkost může být přítomna z barvícího procesu, nicméně nesmí být nepříjemná a v žádném případě nesmí přebíjet vše ostatní. Dlouhý hořký "ocas" je naprosto nepřijatelný! Během hodnocení by se při rituálu neměl používat cukr. Cukr by taktéž neměl být přítomen v samotném absinthu. Přílišná sladkost nápoje je nepříjemná, absinthe není "tlamolep". Nápoj by měl být chuťově lahodný, osvěžující. Zkušenější degustátoři by měli zachytit jednotlivé destilované bylinky jako je pelyněk, anýz, fenykl a další.

Celkový dojem: Ohodnoťte recenzovaný absinthe jako celek, jak na Vás působí. Celkové hodnocení by mělo být odvozeno ze všech hodnocených položek, nicméně je pouze na Vás, jestli se Vaše finální hodnocení bude odvíjet od některé z hodnocených vlastností, nebo budete hodnotit matematickým průměrem všech hodnocení, což za vás mimochodem udělají administrátoři absinthové mafie.

You are right Ben, it's system based on surveys which are manually posted here by admins. All rights belongs to Habu who created it for us so feel free to ask him for permission He could also translate it to English, it will be good to have your reviews here.

What a lol! Well, no problem with the translation at all. However the survey review tool is not ready yet. First I must alter the scoring sheet, since we discussed it here, that taste and aroma should be the two dominant attributes. Those two should take more than 50% of the whole scoring sheet. It's because some samples might have good color, good louche, even a good mouth feel, but smells like shit and tastes like... whatever. I'm going to edit that today, I hope.

By the way, there's a funny background behind our survey. In the beginning we wanted to use the absinthe review tool from feeverte.net. So I asked the creator of it Marcus Hartsmar and he agreed, but told me to ask David Nathan-Maister as well, since the scoring sheet is his own. So I wrote him and meanwhile we did some reviews with it already. After few days David answered with not much enthusiasm in using the feeverte review tool elsewhere than feeverte.net. He didn't say "no", but as a fellow absinthe fan I fully accepted that and created my own review tool & scoring sheet. And now YOU want to use this survey review tool for TARN! Nothing wrong with that, it just cheers me. Stay tuned, translation of the survey is not my priority now, but I'll get on it, if I'll have some spare time.

Habu, please don't feel rushed, I'm sure you have other things you are already busy with! But if you could, just let me know when it is finished (either here or at TARN). I agree, taste/aroma should ALWAYS be over 50% of the total score, I believe packaging(presentation) and colour should have very little effect, less than 10% of the score in my opinion. Many people think maybe I am a bit excessive, but I also think that even the louche is superficial and should have little bearing on the overall score. At the end of the day, it should not matter how it looks or how pretty it is when it louches, what matters is the taste, I agree with you 110%!

I should have been more clear, however. I actually was asking if you felt it was alright that I also use the IDEA of using a survey to submit reviews. I would of course do the work of creating the actual survey/review submission form myself. I just did not want you to say "Well, he stole this idea without asking, that copycat..."

Do konce týdne by mělo být zase vše v pořádku.

Stránky absinthe-cz.com byly úšpěšně přesunuty pod nový webhosting gigaserver.cz. Stejně tak databáze, nad kterou jede dotazník recenze. Bohužel se původnímu webhostingu kapusta.cz zatím podařilo obnovit zálohu z července 2010. Poslední recenzi, kterou jsem schopen manuálně vydolovat, je z 5.2.2011 od Alchymisty na La Grenouille, dnes večer zkusím aktualizovat.

Jinak dotazník na recenze je nyní plně funkční.
