That would be probably a good idea to contact them. I have already got all the approvals, even for label. Slivovitz was planned for export too.

Fíha! Probírám se novou zásilkou a copak to vidím. Nové láhve Jade PF1901 a V.S. mají na zadní etiketě šarži Sept. 2010! Jen holt nevím, jestli je uvnitř nový obsah (etiekty jsou původní) a nebo je to jen nové plnění starého absintu. Ted není moc komunikativní člověk a tak se to asi nedozvíme.

Mimochodem, v neděli jsem konečně dva ze čtyř Jade ochutnal. Verte Suisse byl krásný zážitek. Takhle lahodný absinthe, u kterého bych se zároveň tolik učichal, jsem ještě nepil. Víc mi už šmakoval jen wine based La Clandestine, který jsem měl o dvě sklenky před ním a co bohatosti chuti mi byl sympatický ještě víc... musím někdy postupně vyzkoušet i ten vámi opěvovaný Berthe de Joux, protože by to, aspoň podle referencí, mohlo skýtat obdobný zážitek a přesně toto je můj absintový šálek čaje...

Pak jsem ochutnával Edouarda, překvapil mě odlišností od VS a zprvu nečekaná/překvapivá zvláštní chuť vzadu na jazyku mi přišla zvláštní, postupem sklenky mi ale chutnala víc a víc. Můžete mi někdo říct, čím byla ta specifická, dozvuková chuť způsobena?

Na WS se objevila zpráva od Teda:

There is no reformulation of anything. The U.S. and some other countries have a 10 ppm limit on thujone, so we’ve had to step up our QC efforts. We don’t change the herb bill or quantities in doing this, which is the good news. This was needed for other reasons as well, as some changes in distillery personnel in the not-too-distant past created some inconsistencies at bottling time, which we cannot allow to reoccur. Also, we can’t have multiple versions based upon thujone content, which would be counterproductive and confusing to everyone, despite the fact that they would be indistinguishable to consumers. FWIW, only the French government tried to force me to reformulate, and I challenged that (and won). There can be no reformulation of the Jades. They are what they are.

Changing his herb source to insure compliance with legal limits or making changes in the protocol procedures is tantamount to reformulation. It may only be semantics but I think more is at stake then merely more rigid quality control procedures. That said, what matters is the taste.

Agreed. Changing herbs source or macerating wormwood in a water instead of pure spirit is kinda reformulation.

AFAIK & what I measured by GC-MS, 10 ppm of thujone excludes high quality of wormwoods (Pontarlier, VdT sources) and those amounts in recipes will be lowered -> negative impact to taste.
Or use the wormwood with reduced thujone.
35 mg/L -> 10 mg/L means to use ~ 7 g a.a. / L maceration instead of typical 25 g/L.
The taste will suffer.
