[Absinthe Review Ben]

Hello everyone! Probably most of you won't be able to understand me, but I would like to introduce myself just the same. I'm Ben Lopez, an American absinthe drinker of about 8 years. I started The Absinthe Review Network about 2 years ago, and my personal quest to spread the truth about genuine absinthe about the same time. In 2007 I would never have imagined myself posting in a Czech-based forum! But after seeing Martin's Absinthe Mafia on Twitter and speaking with him, I know that this group will play a very, very important role in the future of absinth/absinthe in the CR.

Now that introductions are over, I'd like to ask two questions:

1.Have you all gotten together for a anti-absinth mouthwash march through the streets yet?

2.Am I the only English-speaking fellow here?

To your questions: 1 - no, still no... we were 7 (if I remember well) on our last meeting, we would get lost among the crowds of turists in the streets
2 - I don't think so. At least Tibro can... I think

Huh? Like... put some green clothes on, make some banners saying "Say no to fire!" or "Hills in NOT an absinthe!" and take the streets? Sadly, no. But we had an absinthe gathering in this bar called Černá Vdova (Black Widow) in Žižkov (part of Prague) and there is this owner Ariadne Armstrong, who seems to have an absinthe taste too, however she stopped replying to my questions suddenly, so I don't know what's going on. Last thing I knew she was going to Germany to some goth-fest and promised that she'll buy some absinthe stuff for the bar. But as I said, no answer since then. She's an American, you can find her on myspace and facebook too.

2.Am I the only English-speaking fellow here?

No. Don't worry. Few folks here DO speak english. And there are even two foreign members - Tibro, American living in Czech now. And Alan, but he's not very frequent here, you can find him on feeverte.net or wormwoodsociety.org and so on.

It is amazing, that you are between ourselves!
In my opinion, English isn´t problem, because the majority of users need English in their job or school.

Thank you for the welcome! Alan is a good friend of mine, and I have seen Tibro at Fee Verte, though I don't recall us ever talking. Good to hear that many of the members know pretty good English!

Well, if your forum is right now under 50 members, but 7 of you met up, that is a very high percentage of your members showing up for the meeting! It sounds like the people here are very devoted!

By the way, I use these same style of forums (phpBB), I do like them. But I am terrible with computer stuff, so my version is 2 years behind...

Where do you guys buy your absinthe from that will ship to Czech?

I am mostly using Liqueurs de France from which I buy glasses and absinthes. But there is also very popular absinth-oase.de
There is no similar e-shop or store in Czech with real absinthe

I use absinth-oase.de e-shop as well. They have quite some good brands in stock (among many czechsiths) for quite good price. And the biggest advantage for us is that their store is very close to Czech-German border, so they are able to send it by Czech post, which costs some 10 euros. That's quite a difference from the prize you will pay to Liquers de France for example...
